He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at Hampshire College with a concentration in Latin American Studies, History, and Creative Writing. He has a background in non-profit work, customer service, and international experiential learning programs. He’s passionate about community engagement and living with both a local and global mindset.
Why Shiminly? He’s excited to work at Shiminly because he values learning life skills inside and outside of the classroom while finding ways to bring them together. He wants every student to have the best opportunities available in making the right choices for themselves, their communities and broader global community. After many experiences, Chris hopes to honor those opportunities by helping to coordinate new ones for the next generation of Global Citizens. He believes in the importance of fostering a more empathetic and cooperative global community to face the growing challenges of the world. To know is not enough. It’s just the start of what one can do with others and for others. The world works best when it works together.
Amy is an instructional designer who develops content and resources for both students and facilitators. Before Shiminly, she began her career as a music and ESL teacher, and has taught in Spain, Italy, China, and Australia over the last 10 years. She’s passionate about using her creativity and international experience to build engaging and accessible content for all types of learners.
Why Shiminly? Amy believes that every child has unique abilities and learning styles, and that the classroom should be a safe and malleable space that opens the minds of learners and allows them to express themselves freely. She also believes that every learner, no matter their age, should have access to diverse topics that build on traditional education in a meaningful and practical way. She wants students to understand that learning should be a joyful and lifelong practice, and that a person’s level of education can only be measured by conscientiousness, compassion, and generosity.

These skills also help parents become more confident in their child’s decision making, yet many schools don’t emphasize the competencies. She hopes Shiminly programs can make these skills more accessible to schools and students around the world.
