Alfoncina is a recent graduate from the University of Kent. She received her bachelors in Spanish and Management, and she has been teaching online since 2018 alongside her studies.
She is passionate about languages and she speaks English, Shona, Spanish and Portuguese and wants to learn even more langauges. Alfoncina strives to ensure students are always engaged and supported in class. She creates a safe learning environment where students can explore their ideas, challenge themselves and most of all be their best self. She encourages her students to empower themselves and grow intellectually.

Why Shiminly? Alfoncina coaches and supports students to improve their English skills through effective communication. Shiminly is a space where students can participate in structured activities and discussions, thus leading them to become multifaceted individuals in a changing world. THAILAND

Benjamin is from the state of Oregon in the United States. He has taught English as a Second Language for over three years. He also has worked as a residential boarding school advisor, summer camp teacher, and substitute teacher for music and English classes. Benjamin has degrees in Anthropology and Journalism and has been involved in making short documentaries. His background is evident in my inquisitive teaching style. He also likes meeting students and encouraging them to make their own personal stories which is crucial to their learning.

With eighteen years of international teaching experience in diverse educational settings, Justin is a seasoned educator. His career, primarily with leading nonprofit organizations in major American cities, notably New York City, laid the foundation for his journey as an international educator. Justin is dedicated to fostering life skills and empowerment through education, teaching a range of subjects including English, nutrition, geography, environmental studies, service learning, and martial arts.

Holding certifications as an eating psychology and kung fu coach, he is passionate about sharing knowledge, especially with young individuals, viewing it as a profoundly rewarding endeavor in life.

Lindsay, an experienced Shiminly facilitator hailing from the United States, comes with a background in teaching Mathematics at the high school level. Her journey in education led her to explore opportunities abroad, particularly in Indonesia. During her time there, she honed her teaching skills and expanded her horizons. Now, Lindsay has shifted her focus to a thriving online teaching career, dedicated to nurturing young minds worldwide. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education, with a strong foundation in Mathematics.

Why Shiminly? Lindsay firmly believes that today’s children face immense academic pressure, often neglecting essential life skills in the process. Shiminly presents a unique opportunity for children to not only excel academically but also develop a well-rounded skillset that will serve them throughout their lives. Through Shiminly, Lindsay is passionate about helping children learn and appreciate topics often overlooked in conventional educational settings.

Canada

Mary is a compassionate and highly educated teacher with over ten years of experience as an educator in diverse communities and as well as online. She has a master’s degree in education and is a Certified Teacher for grades K-8th grade in both Regular and Special Education. Mary holds a 120-hour TESOL certification for ESL and has taught online as an ESL teacher for five years. Mary is a student’s greatest cheerleader and through patience and motivation, a student will gain confidence in their abilities.

Shiminly utilizes a multi-manipulative approach to learning that addresses different learning needs. Mary’s beliefs are aligned with Shiminly’s mission that learning should be fun! Students need to be self-motivated and operate independently with support and motivation along the way. Specializing in creating inclusive and dynamic environments, Melissa provides tools and techniques for ultimate success, guiding teachers to leverage strengths and proactively address blind spots, fostering innovation, developing effective learning strategies and promoting continuous development for individuals and teams.

Nina is from beautiful, sunny South Africa, where she currently lives. She has worked in many different industries and gained worldly experience living and working abroad. Having experienced various work environments, she knows  her true passion and purpose lies in education. She has experience in remedial teaching and facilitating of all age groups, from toddlers to teens, university students to high powered professionals and government officials. In her sessions, she is her student’s biggest cheerleader. She is enthusiastic, patient, dedicated, dependable, high-energy, flexible, encouraging but most of all loads of fun! She believes the more fun and engaging the lessons, the more students retain information. She loves teaching because she is able to connect with people from all walks of life. She takes pleasure in getting to know students, understanding their needs and helping them achieve their goals. She believes that knowledge is power and empowering others to know their full potential is what it’s all about.

Patrice has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in modern languages from the University of the West Indies in Jamaica. During her studies, Patrice received intensive training in language, linguistics, literature, translation, and interpretation. 

Education has long been a passion of Patrice. Her teaching journey began after completing her degree in 2011. She also has over 15 years of experience in the performing arts, having trained in several groups in music, dance, and drama. Over the years, teaching has afforded Patrice the opportunity of interacting with students of varying ages, backgrounds and cultures across different continents and regions, such as Europe, North America, Asia and the Caribbean.

Stacy is from the United States and the Marshall Islands. She has a bachelors’ degrees in History and English and a master’s degree in Documentary Filmmaking from NYU. She started her teaching journey in South Korea and has since traveled the world, working with students of all ages. She likes making documentaries and teaching as she loves the process of discovery. How exciting it is to be there at that lightbulb moment when a student understands a new concept or idea, then creates something new and shares it.

User and Event Data Retention

User-level and event-level data associated with Google Analytics cookies is retained for 14 months and then automatically deleted.

IP Anonymization

I have implemented IP Anonymization, simply put, the last three digits of your IP address are set to zeros in memory shortly after being sent to the Analytics Collection Network. The full IP address is never retained, or written to disk.
